Christmas carolers share their joy

The Christmas carolers who visited our home early this evening.

Their school bus pulled right up to our front door.

After they sang we served cookies and hot chocolate.

Such a blessing they were to us this Christmas season.

Wow!  Late this afternoon I received a telephone call from a local music teacher that I have come to know since moving here.  He teaches music at a local children’s home.  Yes, an orphanage.  It’s also a boarding school for children with families but the children living there at this time of year have no where else to call home.  He was out caroling with the children and they wanted to know if they could stop by our home.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?  We couldn’t wait.  We ran around getting together cookies, making hot chocolate, and alerting the neighbors in our compound.  About an hour later they pulled up in their school bus.  They were polite and friendly and their singing was joyful and uplifting.  I had tears in my eyes and a huge smile on my face.  I am truly humbled to have these amazing children treat me and my neighbors to such an event.  This Christmas season has been so different in so many ways and this is this was our wonderful memory of the day.

– Every good gift and every perfect present comes from heaven; it comes down from God, the Creator of the heavenly lights, who does not change or cause darkness by turning.  – James 1:17
